CFMOTO Adventure Ride

The Kickdown Festival will be a great event and if you ride an adventure bike then this is a superb ride with specials sections. This part of the event is known as the CFMOTO adventure ride and takes place on Friday. The CFMOTO 450MT Adventure bike has taken New Zealand by storm and it is NZ’s top selling motorcycle so we just had to be part of the fun.

The Coromandel has long been lauded as a NZ motorcycling Mecca. Twisty tar seal, epic views across the water and bakeries in every town, you just you can’t go wrong! But if you were to add some sweeping gravel roads and exclusive private access, you’d have just turned a road bikers dream into an Adventures rider’s paradise. So CFMOTO did just that!

CFMOTO are proud to present a fully supported adventure experience as a new addition to Kickdown Festival. The route gives the riders a great variation of road riding, gravel and private farmland, all in all a textbook adventure ride! The route has been designed to be achievable for a wide range of riders and bikes, with an optional “Special Test” to spice things up!

Starting in Onemana, riders will be directed up the road on the East Coast of the peninsula. From there gravel will take riders from farmland through native bush and onto the West Coast. The route will pass directly through Coromandel township but you should keep on pushing North to experience Adventure CFMOTO style with a fundraising lunch at Whitestar Station. Here exclusive access will get us onto the ridge line of the station and into some challenging Coromandel conditions, but remember this is an optional Special Test! If the weather is on our side here the views will be spectacular and the perfect place to take a photo of your bike parked up! And if not? Well, we’re adventure riding so it’s all part of the fun!

We have been fortunate enough to have private farm access onto Whitestar Station. The “Special Test” will give riders a chance to put their machines and themselves on some more challenging terrain. Once riders have finished playing in the hills the commute back is anything but the ordinary. Another iconic gravel section will give you the chance to break the rear loose and kick up some dust, before an East Coast road ride brings us back to Joes Farm for a night of revelry!

There will also be CFMOTO bikes and accessories on display plus an opportunity to test ride a 450MT and the all new 800MT-X (subject to terms and conditions).

There are options for the riders to attend the whole festival including the concert on Saturday or to just attend the Friday Coro Loop Ride and evening Meat Cook Off. We have accommodation option where rider can purchase a camping pass and bring their own tent or RV etc, or the other option where they can purchase the full package which includes a pre-pitched tent with airbed, sleeping bag, pillow and camp chair.

The Friday adventure bike day leaves Joes Farm 1064 Tairua Rd in the morning and returns back late afternoon where there will be a larger open fire meat cook off with some of NZ best BBQ teams cooking. Each rider will receive a voucher to the cook off in their ticket.
